The majority (typically 65-75%) of daily calories in the ketogenic diet are derived from fat. The remaining calories come from protein and carbohydrate.  Most ketogenic diet guidelines recommend you stay between 15 - 30g of net carbohydrates per day, or 5-10% of total calories.  Due to its high fat content this diet forces the body into ketosis which occurs when the body uses ketone bodies and fat as a fuel source due to the insufficient amount of carbohydrate consumed. Therefore, instead of using carbohydrate as its primary energy source the body uses fat and ketones.
You can enjoy foods high in fat such as lean meats, oily fish, full fat dairy, nuts, seeds, avocados, oils and of course plenty of vegetables and low sugar fruits.
We advise that you seek clearance from your healthcare provider prior to starting any new diet or exercise program.
The SlimFast Keto products are not designed to be part of the 3.2.1 plan, they are designed to be part of a keto lifetsyle.  However, if you are following a calorie controlled diet, you might like to consider using our keto products as part of this - the shakes for example are 199kcal.
SlimFast Keto products are suitable for vegetarians, however they are not suitable for vegans as they contain ingredients derived from cow's milk.
SlimFast Keto Fuel Shakes are designed to be made up with water and not milk to ensure you get all nutrients in the right amounts for a Keto diet.  However you can choose to make them with a milk of choice if you would like a creamier shake.
