BBQ Goals

Tuesday 30th April
BBQ Goals The sun is out so fire up the barbeque! This can be a tricky time if you're watching what you eat, but there is no need to miss out. Here are SlimFast's top 6 BBQ tips,

  1. Keep it lean - barbecued chicken/lean meat, fish and vegetables are a great way to keep the calories down.

  1. Hit the veggies first - fill half your plate with veggies/fruit before heading to the barbecue. Corn on the cob is one of our favourites.

  1. Have your steak and eat it too - you can't miss out on a bit of steak! Instead of a whole steak try a kebab instead, this will cut the calories and if it's lean meat like chicken or turkey, get stuck in!

  1. Steer clear of the dips - most dips are made with mayo, oil or sour cream. Try tomato/yogurt-based dips, these are lower in calories and taste great with carrots, cucumber or sliced peppers.

  1. Switch it up - swap your tomato sauce, mayo and relish for low-calorie alternatives.

  1. Save up your snacks - two small glasses of red wine come to 250kcal. You can easily save these calories from your three 100kcal daily snacks, and you can use the remaining 50 calories on the BBQ!
