I started well with my usual 3 mile walk. I needed to do something mega energetic following my chinese 10 course banquet last night. Walking home Emma rang. She was thinking the same thing after our 'blow out'. We decided to try Kayaking. I'd been talking to Christine about having a go so she decided to come with us. Less than an hour later we were all in the water wearing our hired wetsuits (there's a sight my other half is sorry he missed but fortunately for us there's no photographic evidence). We did some swift paddling, nothing more heroic for me however the other two went way further out into the sea than I wanted to. Emma wondered if there were any "poisonious jelly babies" around (she meant jelly fish of course) someone else with food on the brain- I had a mental picture of what a great cartoon that would make, though the sight of us three in our single multicoloured kayaks would be funny enough on it's own. At one time Christine whizzed by me stretched on her kayak using it like a body board- she'd managed to roll onto her front and had her bum in the air. That's the larking about I have to put up with when spending the afternoon with two girls who have parents younger than me! I added their ages (low 20's) and realised the two of them together are more of less my own age (frightening). After an hour and a half of this we'd worked up a sufficient appetite for lunch. We walked to the Bay just in time for last food orders. I had tuna baked potato with salad. The Sunday roast special of Beef and yorkshire pudding is for the imagination only. As we were leaving a couple of hundred riders on motorcycles lined up on both sides of the beach road outside, it was the BSA 2008 International Rally. I was glad we were out of our wetsuits!
